Requiem of Reuinis Controls Reference

Full controls reference for Requiem of Reuinis — keyboard bindings, movement, combat, inventory, alchemy, research menus, and pause options for the demo.

Basic movement controls

Requiem of Reuinis uses keyboard-first controls with optional mouse support for tile selection. Movement is grid-based — each step onto a new floor tile advances the in-game calendar by one day. Arrow keys and WASD both move Tasia one tile in the corresponding direction. Click an adjacent tile with the mouse to move there instead. Standing on a tile and opening menus does not consume days, so review your inventory and plan routes before stepping forward.

The Cave Entrance tutorial teaches movement interactively on first launch. If you skip or forget the tutorial, this reference covers every binding used across the demo's three regions and thirty maps. Controls are identical in all regions — no region-specific keybind changes occur between the Cave Entrance, Forgotten Ruins, and Deep Sanctum.

  • Arrow keys / WASD — move one tile (costs one day per new tile)
  • Mouse click — move to adjacent tile
  • Esc — pause menu, save, and settings

Inventory and equipment

Press I to open the inventory and equipment screen. This panel displays Tasia's five equipment slots — weapon, armor, shield, and two accessories — plus her item inventory and skill panel. Drag equipment to swap slots or click to equip from inventory. Equipment changes do not pass time, so adjust loadouts freely while standing on any tile.

The inventory screen also shows material stacks, consumable counts, and key items. Keys appear with labels indicating which door types they open once you possess the Cave Map Fragment or equivalent region map. Consult the Equipment Guide for slot mechanics and the Equipment Database for item details.

  • I — inventory and equipment screen
  • Click/drag — equip or swap gear between slots
  • Skill panel tab — select two active skills from unlocked list

Alchemy and research menus

Press A to open the alchemy crafting menu when at an alchemy station on the current floor or after retreating to camp. Alchemy converts materials into potions and crafted items, consuming camp days when used at base. Press R to open the research tree at research stations or camp. Research commits materials to permanent upgrades — ATK tiers, DEF tiers, skill unlocks, and routing shortcuts.

Alchemy and research menus are unavailable mid-combat. Finish or flee encounters before accessing crafting. At camp, both menus are always available during retreat phases. The Alchemy Guide and Research Guide explain menu workflows beyond basic keybindings.

  • A — alchemy menu (stations or camp)
  • R — research tree (stations or camp)
  • Camp retreat — both menus always accessible

Combat controls

Combat triggers automatically when Tasia walks into an enemy tile unless she holds a key item that bypasses the encounter. During combat, skill buttons appear on screen mapped to number keys 1 and 2 for your two equipped active skills. Strike, Guard, Alchemy Burst, Dream State, and Token Forge activate through these slots depending on your current loadout.

Combat is turn-based and deterministic — enemy stats display before engagement, and damage calculations are consistent across attempts. No real-time reflex inputs are required. Use Guard before telegraphed boss attacks; activate state skills when Golden Triumph and Dream Anchor are equipped for maximum damage windows. The Beginner Guide covers combat flow in detail.

Pause, save, and settings

Esc opens the pause menu with save, load, settings, and quit options. Requiem of Reuinis supports manual save at any time through the pause menu — save before boss attempts and before using single-use keys on unfamiliar doors. Auto-save triggers on retreat to camp and region transitions.

Settings accessible from pause include audio levels, display options, and control remapping if supported in your demo build version. Demo progress transfers to the full game via save transfer — maintain regular saves documented in the Save Transfer Guide.
